Pollution Prevention Waste Assessments

The Division of Pollution Prevention and Environmental Assistance is a non-regulatory section of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

The Local Government Team is comprised of waste analysts that are dedicated to assisting local governments with a variety of situations that require intervention and problem solving. This specialized staff can work with your government by providing on-site field assessments, education and training for businesses and industries.

As local governments seek to reduce waste going into local landfills, oftentimes they will require special assistance to solve certain waste-related problems. The DPPEA Local Government Team assists by forming a partnership with the local government. DPPEA assistance is provided at no cost and will likely identify ways for your local government to lower costs associated with waste management.
