Gov. Easley

North Carolina is suffering from the worst drought in recorded history. While some areas are hurting more than others, no city or county is immune to the effects of the drought.

“I want to thank everyone for answering my call to save water as the drought worsened. I am asking that we continue our aggressive water conservation since we do not know what kind of weather the summer will bring. We are all in this together, and by continuing to work together we can make sure we have adequate water resources today and in the future.”

Lake Automation Inc.
Lake Automation, a machine design and build business in Wilmington, N.C., had a plumber come in and fix bathroom sink and toilet leakage noted when the company moved into its building. Although costly, the company felt it was important to do as its part in conserving water. The company posted signs to remind employees to minimize the use of faucet water, not only to save on its water bill, but also to help cut down the amount of wasted water.
